Okay, so basically, I'm just a guy who loves memes. Life is hard enough for most of us right? Why not add a little humor to it wherever we can? I grew up playing video games and designing websites on good ol' dial-up! Imagine that! Took forever. I'm 34 years old and live with my dog and my son.
I got started with memes about 5 years ago when an old buddy of mine told me to join this really funny Facebook group. It doesn't exist anymore, but it was called Meme Addicts. Once I joined I got hooked. I loved all of the humor! I have always been pretty adept when it came to technology so I decided to start making my own memes. Needless to say, they got some pretty good reactions. Over the course of the next few years, I helped run different meme groups and then finally started making my own. I educated myself on how to advertise, how to get followers, and how to run Facebook groups in general. I got fairly good at it and built myself a small "empire" so-to-speak. It included about 6 groups and a meme page. My largest group got up to 96,000 members and my page was up to about 175,000 followers. Well, when Facebook started getting more strict on their community standards, I got multiple strikes on my page and groups for content that pushed the boundaries. Needless to say, I took a break from the meme groups and Facebook for a while. Now I'm back and running a comedy page again. How can a Graphic Designer not love to make memes?!?
I do have an editor that helps manage the page but they mostly act as a backup in case I ever lose access somehow or accidentally break a community standard. For now, it's just us two that manage the page but I may hire some more people once the page grows in followers. We are still brand new, but we are gaining traction in the "meme world" very quickly.
